This hand-made 19th- or early-20th-century religious shrine is an unusual and distinctive folk art find from the Austro-Hungarian Empire

Hand-made in a country setting or monastery, the shrine features a central image of the virgin Mary. It is surrounded by three-dimensional hand-formed flowers, mini-garlands and other decorations. The entire tableau is encased in a painted shadow box with a glass front. .
